See the Exhibitor Overview page for guidelines on who may exhibit at this event. Below are options for qualifying vendors to participate.
#1: Send a representative
Of course, the best possible advertising for your products or services is to send a representative to display your products and answer questions! Homeschoolers “talk” and the best way to generate positive word-of-mouth that will extend into the months after the Fair itself is through your physical participation! If you cannot come in person this year but would still like to participate, there are some other alternatives.
#2: Partner with a local
Purchase tables and advertise for local homeschooling parents (who use and love your products) to man the tables in exchange for some financial compensation or free materials. You may have a database of customers in Alaska, or we can pass along an e-mail to our families for you. This e-mail should specify what you are looking for and ask them to contact you directly. Any arrangements for representation are between you and them and do not involve IDEA. Display materials can be donated to the representatives, donated to our Resource Rooms, or you could have the representatives handle return shipping for you.
#3: Unmanned tables
Purchase unmanned tables, sending brochures and displays that can be used for door prizes at the end of the day and/or placed in our Resource Rooms for our families to examine at all times of the year. (We cannot send materials back to you or ship them from location to location.) We will mount an 8 1/2 x 11 notice on the table in an acrylic stand-up holder with your company name, explaining that you were unable to attend, but wanted people to be able to order from you at the Fair. We have found that most attendees would prefer to look at a display of items and then choose to pick up your catalog, so we encourage a display. You have the option of purchasing whole or half tables for unmanned displays. (Half tables are available only for unmanned exhibits.) Keep in mind that 1/2 table is very small: only three or four feet long. Scroll down for mailing addresses for shipment of displays.
#4: Catalogs and/or door prizes
Send catalogs or brochures for the hand-out sacks that attendees receive; possibly send door prizes, too. Scroll down for more details about hand-out sacks. Catalogs weighing more than three ounces are TOO HEAVY for our hand-out sacks and may only be sent to be placed on 1/4 or 1/2 table. You can register and pay for these partial tables using the registration form. You might also like to send door prizes to the same address, marking those boxes “Door prizes” instead. You can send both in the same box, if you like; just mark it “Hand-out sacks and door prizes,” please. Scroll down for mailing addresses for shipment of catalogs that are too heavy for handout sacks.
#5: Handout sacks
Send catalogs or flyers of less than 3 ounces to be included in stuff sacks to be distributed to all attendees. See the handout page for shipping addresses and other information.
